Mildred Proctor Obituary

Mildred G. Proctor, 81, a resident of New Stanton for 63 years, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, in Newell, at the home of son, Mark. She was born July 23, 1931, in North Irwin, and was raised on the family chicken farm in Meadow Brook, and later moved to Pleasant Valley. She was the daughter of the late David H. and Arra Householder Smith. She was a graduate of the Penn Trafford School District, class of 1949, and was also a trumpet player with the school band. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Millstein Industries in Jeannette, retiring with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene and also served as their Sunday School treasurer for 25 years. She loved God and all of her church family. Mildred loved to bowl and had many friends and neighbors. She also loved her flower gardens, animals and especially her pug dog, Robert Redford, and Cinder, her black lab. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Eugene R. Proctor; three sons, Eugene D. Proctor and his wife, Sue, of Bloomfield, Zane Proctor and his wife, Pam, of Wyano, and Mark Proctor and his wife, Deb, of Newell; three daughters, Janet Powell and her husband, Ralph, of Brockton, Mass., Merry Patton and her husband, Steve, of Carver, Mass., and Barbara Savasta, of New Stanton; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, David Smith and his wife, Glenda, of Volant; a sister, Sandra Willis, of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136 Madison, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Michael R. Beckley officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park Cemetery, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Norwin Church of the Nazarene, 110 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642.
