RICHARD "DICK" HUCKRIEDE GREENSBURG - Richard "Dick" Huckriede, 95, died September 17, 2024, at Pratt Health and Rehab, Pratt, Kansas. He was born July 23, 1929, in New Bremen, Ohio, the son of Oscar Henry and Alma Marie (Fark) Huckriede. Dick graduated from Greensburg High School in 1948. He was a Soda Jerk at the soda fountain in Greensburg for over 55 years. Dick had lived in New Bremen, Ohio, Greensburg until the 2007 Tornado, and Pratt since then. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Greensburg, and the St. Paul Evangelical Church, Preston, Kansas. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Dick was preceded in death by two brothers Jim Huckriede and Edison Huckriede, and four nephews Dave Huckriede, Bob Huckriede, Rod Huckriede and Ryan Huckriede. Interment has taken place in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A memorial service and celebration of Dick's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 200 W Kansas Ave. in Greensburg with Pastor Carl Helm presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Kiowa County Historical Museum and Soda Fountian, Greensburg, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054-0041.
