Arletta Slocum Obituary
On July 14, 1956, she married Keith Slocum. Before retiring in 1989 and moving to Venice, she worked with Keith at their insurance agency, and The Butternut Inn that they owned and operated.
She was involved in the Venice community volunteering at Historic Spanish Point, Venice Art Center, and the Venice Historical Society. She was a member of the Ladies of the Venice Shrine and the Venice United Church of Christ.
Arletta was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents, her son Kenneth Slocum and her brother, Robert D. Smith.
She is survived by her children Denise (Daniel) Reisdorf, Mark (Sharon)Slocum, Eric (Joanne)Slocum; her grandchildren Adam (Erin) Reisdorf, Kyle (Mayra) Reisdorf, Laura (Kevin) Howk, Jacob (Michelle Rimlinger) Slocum, Taylor (Amber Stevens) Slocum, Megan Slocum, Ryan Slocum and Matthew Slocum; six great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Beverly Smith.
Memorial donations may be made to the Venice Historical Society or the Venice Art Center.
