Lauryn Cox Obituary

Lauryn Chloe Cox August 28, 2010-January 11, 2012 Miss Cox was an active socializer at Children's Hospital Central California for more than a year. There she studied "Your Baby Can Read" and developed an interest in musicals, e.g. ANNIE and Mama Mia; NEMO entertained her during rounds of chemo. Through her studies she accomplished a sense of humor, music and dance appreciation, and a perfect Greta Garbo impersonation. She enjoyed a bit of notoriety when a bone marrow and blood donor drive was highly publicized by Fresno media(thank you donors and thank you media.) She was honoree at a hospital board meeting and befriended by Miss Fresno County and a Congressman of Montana. Though she "walked with kings" she did not lose her "common touch." She was loved and adored by people from all walks of life, and was cherished as a member of many families. Little Miss Cox retired this colorful life on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 to move on to bigger and better things where she can romp with angels, dance to David's harp, and nap in the arms of Jesus. It is expected she will enjoy the absence of IV poles, bothersome tubes, and tape on her face. She will surely take time to reflect on her hospital family who made leukemia seem like fun much of the time and her mom, Casey Cox, who seldom left her side. Lauryn's grandparents, John and Ramona Cox; great grandmother, Chloe Cox, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and mother miss her terribly, but express their happiness that she is enjoying the freedom of her new home. Viewing will be from 4-8pm Friday, January 20, 2012 at Farewell Funeral Home. Graveside service at Belmont Memorial Park-Saturday, january 21, 2012 at 10am. Celebration of life service will be at New Harvest Church- Saturday at 11am, potluck to follow. Remembrances can be made to Children's Hospital Central California or CureSearch (curesearch.org) who researches for a cure of childhood leukemia.

I will remember her sleeping in my arms before we knew she was sick. And how she sparked up when we arrived to visit her in the hospital not so long ago, and when she danced with my sister, Nancy. Lauryn Chloe is gone too soon.
