Dorothy Baker

Sept. 21, 1932 - Feb. 21, 2022

Dorothy Harris Baker, 89, joined her husband in Heaven February 21, 2022.

Dorothy was born September 21, 1932, to Troy and Tillie Harris in Hamilton County.

On February 11, 1961, Dorothy married the love of her life, Oran "Boots" Baker. The two shared 59 wonderful years together.

Dorothy enjoyed working at Southwestern Bell for many years, alongside being a housewife. Dorothy was also a longtime member of Lorena Baptist Church, Daughters of the Nile, and the Eastern Star Lorena chapter. Dorothy volunteered for many years at the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo.

In her free time Dorothy found pleasure in fishing, baking and being around her animals.

Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandson.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Oran; her parents, Troy and Tillie Harris.

She is survived by her son, Clint Baker and wife, Heather; daughter, Christy Kolacek and husband, Jimbo; grandchildren, Kristyn Pavelka and husband, Corey, Karson Kolacek, Haley and Chris Baker; and great-grandson, Parks Pavelka.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Kosarek, Dr. Andrew Day, Dr. Adam Falcone, and Dr. John McClanahan, Dr. James Goodsett and their staffs, All the amazing staff at Acension Providence Park, The Brazos, and Blue Bonnet Health Care.

A very special thank you to her caregiver, Rex McCutcheon, for the many years, and for all of the love and support given to Oran and Dorothy.
