My sincere condolences to all the Hahn family on Karin's passing. My thoughts are with all of you during this very sad time. Karin was always a dear friend of mine, even though we did not connect since leaving Bonn, her friendship was lifelong. It is a Bonn thing, friends for life! I miss Karin and I smile from all our wonderful memories of a special time in our lives.

I can't believe she is gone from us. Karin was my oldest and dearest friend...we may as well have been sisters. I have the greatest memories of her going all the way back to the summer before 8th grade. Some of my favorites are when we met on the Rhien en Flamen tour (our first experience with beer,) then there were the Teen Club trips...Spain, Austria, Berlin (I still have my piece of the Berlin Wall we chisled off at Check Point Charlie!) And of course, there was our Euro-rail trip thru southern Europe...what an adventure! Sleeping on the streets of Venice, the monsoon on our transfer to Greece, being chased thru the Acropolis in Athens (the guys really liked her blond hair,) finding out that Paradise Beach was nudest, that getting to Crete was really cheap, but getting back was not; giving away all our blue jeans to folks we met on the train thru Yugoslavia, etc., etc. My dear Karin, may you rest in peace now and know that you are loved by many, especially me. I will never forget you. Love always, Patti Hurst Asselborn
