THOMAS BURROWES, JR. "Skip"  CAPT., US Navy (Ret.)  
Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betsy"; loving father of Jennifer and Cynthia (Matthew); and doting grandfather to Kathryn and Michael. He was born in Honolulu, HI and was christened the "Little Skipper" by the nurses because he father was Commander of the Minesweeper in Pearl Harbor. Skip was a member of the Class of '53 from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC. Graduated from the University of Maryland where he a member of ATO Fraternity and completed Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. He served three years active duty in the Navy then retired as a Captain from Naval Reserve in 1985. Skip worked for the Department of Defense overseeing the Military Traffic Management Command. In retirement he was an avid golfer at Westwood Country Club and docent at the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum. Friends will be received at MONEY AND KING FUNERAL HOME, 171 West Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Thursday, December 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Comforter, Vienna, VA with a reception following at Westwood Country Club.
