The Rev. WILLIAM FRANCIS MYERS "Bill"  
The Rev. William Francis "Bill" Myers was born on July 12, 1933, and died peacefully at his home in Reston, Virginia, on March 1, 2021. A native of Hyattsville, Maryland, he was the son of Raymond Cassius Myers and Matilda Martin Parkins Myers. He graduated from Hyattsville High School, the University of Maryland, and Virginia Theological Seminary, and was a chaplain's assistant in the United States Army. After his ordination in 1960, he served as Vicar of St. James Chapel in Bowie, Maryland, and St. George's Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland, and as Rector of Trinity Church in St. Charles, Missouri, St. Thomas Church in Hamilton, New York, and St. John's Church in McLean, Virginia, from 1978 until he retired in 1993. During his ministry there, he had the pleasure and privilege of performing baptisms and weddings for several generations of family members, which brought him great joy.  Bill was a gifted athlete, an avid sports fan, and a life-long student of golf. His father introduced him to bass fishing on the Potomac River, which he later enjoyed with his son. He loved Ledo's pizza, Maryland crab cakes, and his daughter's Key lime pie. Bill treasured his family, and they treasured him in equal measure. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jim, his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Cindy, and his grandchildren, Emily and William Andrew, as well as a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.  A service celebrating Bill's life will be held later this year, and a memorial fund honoring his ministry will be designated at that time.
