Iris Dahm Obituary

Dahm, Iris E.

Iris E. Dahm, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Iris Emma Lippke on September 9, 1925, in Wausau, WI.

Iris attended Wausau schools and was confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. After graduating high school, she worked as a secretary and soon met Donald Dahm. He served in WWII aboard Navy mine-sweeper U.S.S. Roselle. They married in Wausau on May 7, 1949 and resided on Brown St.

Iris's father, Max Sr., owned and operated the Northside Bakery on 3rd St. for many years. Upon his passing, Iris's brother Max Jr. took over the bakery until 1962.

Iris and Donald moved to Beloit in 1956. They raised five sons. Donald worked for many years as a Tool & Die Maker, and Iris was a loving homemaker.

The entire family enjoyed many trips back to Wausau over the years. Iris and Donald also loved traveling in the family camper. They visited southern and western states, and the beautiful north-woods of Wisconsin. After Donald retired, he and Iris spent the winter months in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Iris had life-long passions for decorating, gardening, reading, and antiques. Through the years she maintained a loving and tastefully decorated home for everyone to enjoy. Her faith was very important to her. Iris and family were members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Beloit for many years.

Survivors include sons, Tim (Megan), Bryan, Darryl (Nancy), Dan (Susan), David (Jodi) Dahm, grandsons, Brad, Derek, Ryan, Caleb, granddaughters, Ashley, Chelsey (Vincent) Bradley, Melissa, and great-granddaughter, Aaliyah.

Iris will be laid to rest next to Donald at the family burial plot at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery on North 6th St. in Wausau.
