Shirley A. Flamish

Shirley A. Flamish, 90, of Bethlehem died Wednesday, February 19, 2025 with her family by her side. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Mary I. (Schaffer) Johnson. After attending Allentown High School, Shirley worked in the Sears office in Allentown and the Admissions Department at Sacred Heart Hospital. Shirley then went back to her roots in retail and was a Manager for the former Hess's and former Bonton at the Westgate Mall in Bethlehem for over 25 years before retiring. Shirley enjoyed going to the casino, bowling at the Italian Club and other bowling venues, playing tennis and dancing. She was an incredibly loyal employee and hard worker. Shirley was an avid reader and enjoyed a good gangster movie. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She would go without for them. Shirley was a fiercely independent woman who was steadfast in her beliefs and would help anyone in need. She had an empathic and compassionate heart. She will be deeply missed. Her family will carry on her legacy by doing the right thing and seeing the good in others. Survivors: Sons, Joseph E. Flamish, James E. Flamish both of Bethlehem; sister, Anna Mae Bedics of Bethlehem; granddaughter, Jeniffer L. wife of Dr. Matthew Lang of Coopersburg; beloved great granddaughters, Emmy Lang and Lucy Lang; niece, Mary Ann Bedics of Bethlehem; nephew, Frank M. Bedics and his wife Donna of Raleigh, NC. Shirley was predeceased by her brother Robert E. "Sonny" Johnson. Service: A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held privately by her family.
