Patricia Ann "Pat" McIntire

1942 - 2018

QUINCY -- Patricia Ann "Pat" McIntire, 76, of Quincy, died at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Good Samaritan Home.

Pat was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Quincy, a daughter of Logan E. and Hazel Grace Alexander (Bryant) Easley. On June 20, 1959, she married Larry John Frey in Liberty; they were divorced, and he preceded her in death in 1997. On June 4, 1989, she married Bert McIntire. He preceded her in death in April 1998.

Pat attended Central Union one-room schoolhouse for three years then went to Liberty Grade School. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1959. Later in life, when her children were in their teens, she continued her education at John Wood Community College and Quincy University. Pat received her master's degree from Truman State University.

Pat became an elementary school teacher, working 25 years for Liberty School District No. 2. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Plainville, Zion Lutheran Church of Liberty and Calvary Baptist Church of Quincy. She also was a member of Home Extension of Plainville/Burton Unit and Liberty Teacher's Retirement Group. Pat's hobbies included seamstressing, watercolor painting, crafting, playing the piano and singing, reading, repairing dolls, baking and cooking, and loving animals.

Survivors include three sons, Kevin (Sheila) Frey, Greg (Suzanne) Frey and Chad Frey; five grandchildren, Emma Frey, Johnny Frey, Daisy Frey, Nathan Frey and Ethan Frey; a stepgrandson, Brandon Jude; a brother, Bill Alexander; a sister, Mary Lenz; and a close friend and cousin, Shirley Johnson.

In addition to her husbands, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
