Daniel Weinfurter Obituary
Daniel Gregory Weinfurter, age 19, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away at 8:36 P.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by family and friends.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Valentine will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Danny was born May 4, 1996 in Stevens Point, WI to Greg and Linda (Beck) Weinfurter. He attended Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 2014. Danny was currently employed by Tweet/Garot Mechanical as a pre-apprentice HVAC service technician.
Danny was an exceptional person with a heart of gold, who loved to live life to the fullest. He had a sparkle in his eye and an easy grin that always made you smile. He truly loved his family and friends and always gave them the best gift - his time. Danny was an adventurer and loved the thrill of the speedway; he was a third generation stock car racer. He enjoyed spending time doing anything outdoors: going to the family cabin, hunting, fishing, bow fishing, water sports and snowmobiling were some of his favorites. Most of Danny's free time was spent working on his stock car or hanging out with his best friend, his brother Mike. Danny had many academic achievements his greatest being the Wisconsin State Champion in Skills USA for Carpentry and went on to nationals in Kansas City where he finished 7th out of 48 states in June 2014. Other academic achievements included receiving the Jerry Marshall Award for Industrial Arts and excelling in mathematics and art.
Danny is survived by his parents, Greg and Linda Weinfurter and brother Michael Weinfurter of Wisconsin Rapids; grandmothers, Jean Weinfurter and Rita Beck, both of Wisconsin Rapids; aunts and uncles: Jeff (Michelle) Weinfurter and their daughters Katie and Jamie of Wisconsin Rapids, Brian (Paulette) Weinfurter and their sons Ben and Nathan of Wisconsin Rapids, Brenda (Tom) Prange and their children Cassie (Mario), Mitchell and Lucas of Wisconsin Rapids, Debbie (Greg) Schwandt of Indiana, and Dianne Eastmead of Sun Prairie. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Merlin Weinfurter and Jack Beck and his aunt, Missy Weinfurter.
A memorial will be established by the family at a later date.

Danny's family would like to express a special thank you to all his friends, other family friends and family for their love, prayers, and support and to Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, SICU Unit, for the exceptional care given to him and to the family at this most difficult time.
Danny gave the Gift of Life through choosing to be an organ and tissue donor.

Our thoughts and prayers go to all the family. We didn't have the chance to see him race and were so looking forward to doing that. I think about my Aunt Gen watching the races, which brings a smile to my face. He's in God's hands. May God help you ease the pain of losing Danny. Wishing we could be there in person to comfort all of the family but just know we love and support you with our prayers.

What a great young man. We will never forget his wonderful personality and big heart. He was fantastic to be around and that's a credit to Dan himself and Greg, Linda, Mike and the entire Weinfurter family. I hope everyone carries a little bit of Danny with them going forward. I know that we will.
