Virginia Clifford Obituary

CLIFFORD, VIRGINIA NICHOLS

On Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in West Palm Beach, FL, after a brief illness. Beloved mother of Karen Bartolomucci of Vero Beach, FL, Niki Landgraf of Honolulu, HI and Lynne Wright of Leesburg, VA. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Carr of Hickory, NC; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, H. Patrick Clifford, Jr.; parents, Silas and Irma Nichols and brother, Claris "Cy" Nichols. Born in Hinton, WV, Virginia moved to the Washington, DC area in 1936 and lived there until moving to Vero Beach, FL four years ago. She worked at Garfinkel's department store in Washington and for the Veterans Administration until the birth of her first daughter. While being a homemaker, she also did volunteer work for the Girl Scouts and Head Start. Gigi was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 2 p.m. at NATIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 7482 Lee Hwy., Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Fairfax County, 4057 Chain Bridge Rd., Fairfax, VA 22030 or Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., W. Palm Beach, FL 33407.
