We were not very close, We rarily saw each other but, I knew and loved your aunt and therefore knew of you best through her and some of your cousins. Now that your aunt, mom, 3 uncles have passed I am reminded of you as I think of them.
Life IS short and unpredictable. I miss her very much.
May God continue to bless your memory in your loved ones who remain with us in the flesh.
May God continue to reward all the good works, positive actions and influences you have had in our lives.
May your soul forever rest in peace.
May St Michael the Archangel watch over us all.

Dear Friend,
It's been nine years this month since the Lord called you to his house. I have no doubt that you are as busy on the other side as you were here on earth, perhaps watching over all of us. I thank you for your friendship and pray that God Blesses you and your family.

Cher Love,
L'impression que Jonhy avait voulu me dire au revoir me traverse souvent l'esprit.

What do you do when someone you love dies? How do you cope and go on as if nothing had happened? When I heard of this guest book, I thought it was a good idea for friends, acquantainces or fellow officers. I didn't see myself sharing my thoughts with the rest of the world...but then I thought : "why not?". Still, I've been putting it off for months now. You see, Jean-Albert IS my uncle. I called him "uncle J". My uncle has led a full happy life and he was passionate about it. He was also very passionate about his family, his friends, and his career. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was sooo funny; whenever I was with him, I couldn't keep a straight face. He was simple, humble and his generosity knew no limits. He gave so much, more than money can buy. My uncle was a positive influence for everyone around him... I could write and share with you so much more about my uncle, but the fact is that my words are not enough to express the depth of his soul. He was outstanding! Even though he is not here, in the flesh, his spirit lives in my heart, in his wife and kids hearts... I am blessed to have known him, I know he is now smiling on us. I love you, Uncle J.

To Love and children, you won't remember meeting me but I remember you and thought the world of Jean. I was the detail coordinator at Delray PD before moving to Brevard County. Jean was always so happy and eager to take an extra duty detail. Often times when no one else would. He wanted to be a good provider for his family. I think he accomplished many of his goals. What a loss to a special family, kids who need a mentor and to the community as a whole! This gentleman was obviously just that...a true GENTLEMAN!! I didn't have the honor of knowing officer Pun, but his legacy speaks for itself. To his family: I'm so sorry for your loss. Know that one day you will meet again and see that sweet face and gentle smile. To the young people he mentored: Keep the focus and continue to make him proud..he's watching!! God Bless...

Dearest Love,
I would like to extend my deepest condolences to you and your family. I am honored to have had the opportunity to know Johnny. He was an exceptional human being and the lives that he touched during his time on earth will never be the same. I remember I was left in total awe the first time I saw you and Johnny together, the profound love he felt for you was so obvious. His unforgettable and remarkable smile will never be forgotten. I will miss the time I would call you and Johnny would pick up the phone and carry a conversation with me for about twenty minutes before putting you on the phone. He was one of the very last good guys and will remain in my heart forever. Your faith in the Lord will help carry you and your children through this traumatic time. I love you and will always be there for you.

Johnny, I am going to miss you brother. You were the first helping-hand I had when I started in Delray, when many others did not even talk to me because I was a "rookie." I saw you last time in Boca a couple of weeks ago, when I was directing traffic and you yelled from the bike: "Hey, chupacabra"
I am going to miss you...

To the family of Jean-Albert (Johnny) Pun:
I remember when I met "Johnny" 12 years ago, as an Explorer and dispatcher for DBPD back in 1993. He was a big brother to me, and always stopped whatever he was doing whenever he saw me to ask how my son and I were doing.... and simply how life was going along for me. Love, I remember meeting you at Publix (the one that was located at 314 N.E. Second Avenue - Pineapple Grove) some years ago. Your children were in the truck also. You welcomed me just like we'd known each other for a very long time. I am praying for you and your family. By God's grace and power, all of you will make it through each day. I'm also sending my deepest sympathy and love to you. If you need ANYTHING, please do not hesitate to call (561.503.3453) or send me an e-mail ([email protected]).

To the Jean-Albert-Punn family:
It was an honor knowing him for the short time that he was here. I first met him at Pompey Park while I was an empoyee there and he worked evenings as security until the center closed. On some nights he was not working, he would come by and visit the young people at Pompey Park. Mr. Punn's special gift was a magnet for young people. GOD knows all of his children and he has been plucked from the garden to serve another purpose. His job here is done and he did it well. May the seeds that he planted within these young people grow into beautiful a garden. Mr. Punn, sit back and watch your seeds grow into a beautiful garden. Rest in peace now, you are home......

Attending Johnny's Funeral on Friday felt like a dream. It was just five months ago, I remembered attending Jahq's communion party. Johnny is so loveable. He has this addictive sense of compassion. He made all of us(HALEFO) members and friends felt special and at ease. After the party, we all went to his house and he catered to us like VIP. Always in Johnny's presence, I felt special. He loves love and his children so much. You hear it in his voice and sees it in his eyes. I still remember our grown folks night out, it was myself, Officer Halaby, Officer Leslie and a friend, Johnny and Love. Halaby, Leslie and I rode together. Johnny is a man who respects time, so he made sure to call us and tell us to hurry on down because him and Love were waiting. We had a wonderful time that evening. That was all five months ago. It was unfortunate that I missed the last HALEFO meeting at his house. But I will never forget you Johnny for you are the example of a truly wonderful man. You are my HERO. My daughter wanted me to tell you that you owe her a horse ride, but she understands that GOD needed you for something better. You had a heart of an angel on earth, but now you are in heaven where you belong. I know GOD will continue to bless and protect the love ones you left behind, just like you would. I love you.

Johnny and I met way back in Haiti at College Roger Anglade. I will always remember his pretty smile & his kindness, it was always fun to be around him. Johnny has lived in our hearts and shall live there forever...
Dear God,
We pray for the spirit of Johnny, our beloved son and brother and husband and friend. Take him into Your arms, dear Lord, and bring peace to his soul.
May his transition be sweet.
We see at this time all of the beloved people who mourn him.
And we watch as a glorious angel of God now ties the golden cord of eternal life at one end to Johnny's heart and at the other end to the heart of everyone who so receives him. And now the angel places his hands on this cord, signaling the power of God,which blesses and sustains us,and holds firm our relationships, through life and through death. We receive into our hearts the truth of God's eternal life. Through the glory of God and the mercy of God and the majesty of God,may love still live forever and forever. Please uphold us through this sorrow and this loss,as we grieve and release this one we loved and shall so sorely miss.
Dearly beloved God,
Be our strength at this time, that we might yet see the truth of the world as You created it, That there is no death, that Johnny still lives, and in You we still live with him.
Thank You very much.
Amen.
With Heartfelt Sympathy to his family and friends may the memories of your loved one live in your heart forever.
The beauty of a life well-lived never dies...

Johnny and I met in Haiti during our brief Police Mission in Haiti with the United Nations, 1997-1998. I remeber exchanging ideas with Johnny on how we could make the Police Mission in Haiti a successful Mission and I said to myself, this man knows what he is talking about. Right away we became friends, we stayed in touch after the Police Mission. When I moved to Florida, Johnny was the first person I called and he guided me in all the right directions. I remember when I visited Johnny's Charter School. Johny said to me " Hans, you are my Guest Speaker for the day." I was shocked. My only regret since meeting Johnny, two weeks before he passed away, we had a meeting at his house, we joked and teased each other, but never tought of telling Johnny that we loved him. I am going to miss him, and I am sure the members of Halefo which Johnny was a valuable memmber are going to miss him. My sincere condolence to the Pun's family, his wife (Love)and the kids. Eventhough, I am among the luckiest one to have spent and shared so many years with him, my human selfishness would want many more. Only my faith in God can help me accept his sudden departure and believe that his work on earth was accomplished. Johnny left us an extended family, his blood related one and the ones from the school. I'll continue to be there for both. Johnny and I met when we were teenagers back in Haiti, then through my husband we became great friends and through the years his family and ours became adopted family for each other. What a great human being you were! JOHNNY TRULY WAS A GOOD MAN! May you rest in peace my brother.
To his family, friends, Delray Beach Police, Delray Beach Y.V.C. School, Blue Lodge members, HALEFO members, City of Delray Beach (especially our Haitian community) and everyone else affected by Johnny's departure, I present to you my deepest and sincere condolences.

I was fortunate enough not to have my biological father in my life because that allowed people like Johnny to come into my life and take a turn at playing that role in my life, but then again Johnny was so young that he was also like a brother. He never refered to me as his wife's nephew, well he did once and corrected himself right away and said that I was HIS nephew. Johhny made me feel so comfortable that at times I preferred to speak to him before my aunt Love. Thats how natural it was between Johnny and I. But I am the luckiest outside of his immediate family because I was blessed with the opportunity of living in the same household with Johhny on 3 seperate occasions. Even in living with Johhny I never saw him upset, he was always happy, I will miss your smile, Love,

Johnny
You were the best big cousin that I could ever ask for. You were always encouraging, uplifting, inspiring and truthful. You always would tell me the things I needed to hear, rather than the things that I wanted the here. One of my favorite sayings is "I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day." I must truly say that you personified this saying to the utmost. Your did not talk the talk, you walked the walk. Everyone could see that your words and actions guided your heart to uplift humanity. I am proud of all that you did and I will greatly miss you.

We must continue to look to God for the strength, guidance, and comfort. Please remember that after the darkest point of the night the sun will shine. I pray that after our darkest point in dealing with our great loss, that we can get a glimpse of sunshine. Let us remain prayerful for this is what will continue to give us strength. Remember 7 days withot prayer will make 1 "weak." I pray that God will stregthen us where we are weak, make our burdens's lighter and make each day just a little brighter.

God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep, At the coming of the Lord. Those who believe in him shall be resurected, and death shall be no more,no more tears, and sorrows. May the good Lord be with you and your family.

To the Pun family and extended family, our deepest condolences. We didn't have the fortune to meet Jean. He has such a kind face and reminds us of our dear friend, his cousin, Philippe. No words can mend your broken hearts. We hope you have some comfort in your beautiful memories. Sincerely,
Kelly and Mike

To my cousin Johnny,
How painful it is to know that the family and your buddies will never see you again. I can say this, I will never forget your smile and your personality. It is absolutely amazing how many people you have touched during you short stay here. It is now time for you to patrol the streets of Heaven. I love you brother,
Philippe Archer.

I am deeply sadened by this lost.I am grieving with this family which I've known for more than a decade. A good friend , a great officer, a wonderful husband and father ,a model teacher for his youth center, an examplary citizen,a great man is gone!So much has been accomplished in such a short time because Johnny was an angel who came to move mountains and make this world a better place. All those who have met or known Johnny, should make the solemn promise to change this society positively like he did. Rest in peace. Much love and prayers for strength and courage to Solange, Marie Love, Saphiere, Maya and Jacques and the rest of the Pun's family.
Sincere sympathy,
Frederique Vabre and family
