Having spent so much time with Herm over a 15 year span I can honestly say he was a true inspiration...artistically yes and more importantly as a citizen of the world and the love that he fostered everywhere. I am so thankful to have known him and to have experienced his immense spirit and his tender warmth. RIP Herm.

Our sincere condolences to the family. Loss of a parent is so difficult (My dad left us in Dec 2009). However, the memories of such long lived, productive lives can help us cope. May you find comfort and peace from your precious memories . (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

My condolonces to the family. In life a chance meeting can have a profound effect on your life. I met your dad in the 90's. We visited at his home in West End where I listened to many of his past stories. What a great man. I wanted to enjoy the passion for life, family friends ashe did. I asked him what was his secret. He handed me a book. The title was the "Way of the peaceful Warrior". I have recommened it to many of my friends over the years. It has helped me look at life alot diffrent.I'm thankful your farther took the time to inspire me. Dean Chiappetta

I am deeply saddened by Mr.Leonards death, I just recently watched a documentary about hurricane Katrina in which Mr. Leonard was pretty much the topic. This was my first time ever seeing Herman Leonard,But he will forever be etched into my mind. I was moved by some of the photographs he had,and saddened to see that the hurricane had ruined some of his greatest works,Sinatra,B.B.King and who knows what else was taken by that breadful hurricane.I am so glad I got to meet Herman Leonard not in person,But on TV which was good enough for me. My heart goes out to Mr.Leonards family and close friends I know you have lost a very dear man.Rest In Peace Dear Mr. Heman Leonard. You shall never be forgotten.

Just a few days ago I saw a documentary about this wonderful gentleman. He had gone back to Nahlens after Katrina left her fury. I then learned how his start with photography got him on the map with the public some 40 years after he started photographing the entertainment greats, and the promotion of music in the Nahlens area. Mr Leonard Thank You For Showing Us So Many Glimpses In Time. May You Have The Clouds At Your Back That Looks Like Cigarette Smoke On Your Way To Heaven.
