Ed was a friend of mine, a mentor to many, a serious newspaperman and a good guy. His family is in my prayers. Ed doesn't need them, I'm sure.

Mr. Ed Heminger was to me the definition of a True Gentleman, He was a man whose conduct proceeded from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control was equal to all emergencies; who did not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who was himself humbled if necessity compeled him to humble another; who did not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who spoke with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed followed his word; who thought of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appeared well in any company, a man with whom honor was sacred and virtue safe. We are proud to have worked beside and known this man and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Glen and Shari Thielen

In life there is also death, words of wisdom come from the Bible. "No temptation has taken YOU except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let YOU be tempted beyond what YOU can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out in order for YOU to be able to endure it." (1Cor. 10:13) When we lose a loved one in death we may not have the words to say, God will take care of our heart condition. [email protected]

Mr. Heminger was kind enough to write back to me (via computer) a few years back after I commented on his accounting of Findlay/COURIER history , and sent me a lovely COURIER Umbrella!!! .... People like Mr. H do not come along very often -- my heart goes out to his family. I am a native of Findlay, Ohio [class of FHS - 1959] ..... now residing in Titusville, Florida.
