I grew up with your stories and raised my children with many of them. I met you at Mayfield Primary School in South Auckland in the 80's when I was knee high to a cricket. You are a name that I will never forget...RIP Margaret Mahy xxx

Not only were you an wonderful writer but you were a very special person. Christchurch and the World is a sadder place without you in it. I will always appreciate the 2 visits you made to my class of under achieing readers many years ago.
