One of my heroes! I grew up in Tempe & sold seat cushions before ASU games for the Tempe Boys Club from late 60s to the early 70s. Chills still go up my spine when the crowd roars at the games! I miss Franks consistency (25 yrs.) and toughness. A great leader who made all of us better for knowing him. God Bless the Kush Family.

My prayers and condolences to the Kush family. Worked for his son , Mr. Dan Kush. Very awesome and down to earth gentleman. Dan, I will always remember our talks about ASU and the University of Hawaii games of the past. God bless you and I still think you should have been the MVP of that winning kick. Go Bows---

David & Danny - I remember you both well at Tempe High. Your Dad was an Arizona icon who we all admired and respected. He and the teams he coached made us all proud to be from Tempe indeed, Arizona. My Dad and I (who was on Faculty at ASU as Dr. of Music for 37 years and who passed in December of 2015) reveled in so many of your Dad's biggest coaching moments... including that field goal you kicked against Nebraska Danny. Thanks for the memories. May your Dad Rest in Peace and God may Bless the Kush Family.

I remember the 1970 season when Coach Kush brought home so many victories. As an older student, I was very busy with my studies, but I managed the time to attend several home games. Thanks, Coach Kush for all the excitement. Your coaching achievements are legendary. Rest in peace, and may your memory be a blessing.

I have great memories of my time at ASU from '74-79. I got to work in the Football Department during what I think were the best years of ASU football ever ! Coach and his wife were great to me and I enjoyed visiting with them many times. He was an amazing person and larger than life......its so sad what happens with age and the end of life. We will always think of him and those days in the 70s ...when he was the king of football. Rest in peace Coach...God Bless the family.

Besides being the greatest sports icon in Arizona sports history, Frank taught me a great life's lesson by example. It was probly twenty plus years ago. I played in a golf tournament with him, his brothers Steve and I think Tom
at the Wigwam Resort Course. We won the tournament thanks to Frank sinking a 60 foot two tiered putt on one of the last few holes.
We all received gift certificates for the win. We all went into the clubhouse and we're picking out various merchandise for ourselves. We looked up to see that Frank was over in the ladies section picking out merchandise for his wife Fran. That made a lasting impression on me. What a great role model. Truly a good man with many great talents and a huge and giving heart.

What a man, what a legacy he leaves! I loved ASU football as a kid, and I love it today. We owe it all to Coach Kush. I had the pleasure to have him come and speak to our sales group when I worked for a company in Phoenix. He was very accommodating and graceful to all of us who came to hear him speak.
Later I had the pleasure of serving with Coach Kush on the Fiesta Bowl committee. His presence at our meetings always in a way legitimized the work we were doing at the time.
My condolences to the Kush family - Go Devils!!

My deepest sympathy to all the Kush Families. I was fortunate enough to personally meet Frank at our Pinetop Lakes and Golf Club during one of our golf tournaments....what a delight to meet the coach of my Sun Devils for the past several years.
He couldn't have been nicer to me and he was more than accommodating in autographing my Sun Devil hat. I gave him a US Mint (Proof) Commemorative silver dollar and the next day he asked if I had another one so he could give each of his granddaughters one. I was more than happy to oblige and within a couple of weeks, he sent me a copy of the Sun Devil Football Yearbook along with a letter expressing his appreciation to me.
I was also very fortunate to become friends with one of his brothers, Joe Kush, with whom we shared many fun times on the golf course. I send my sincere condolences for the Kush family loss but his memory will live on forever.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Kush. He gave me the oppurtunity of a lifetime when he hired me as a graduate assistant in 1979. It led to a 24 year high school head coaching career in PA. Along with my father, he was my mentor. In later years when I visited Tempe with family and friends, he went out of his way to spend hours with us. He was a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kush family.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Kush, but it's quite obvious, despite the painful and unpleasant circumstances of the moment, and from the expressions of both affection and respect, that the lives of all those who knew him and his family were very enriched. His zeal for producing the best possible results just as much off the field as on it is clear. May the entire Kush family, along with all those who mourn his passing experience the unique peace and joy God alone can give, as He carries you across this bridge........Matthew 11:28- 30

May God rest your soul Coach Kush. You were a tough, but fair man. You helped make me a better man. I remember my freshman year at ASU and you called and offered us (Steve Bratkowski) some food leftover from a get together you had at your home. It was shrimp, meat, and cheese trays. That was generous of you to think of us Freshman Football players. I also remember you parked outside Saguaro Dorm in the morning watching that your players were going to class. You commanded respect and tried to get the best out of us as players and young men. I now mourn your passing and pray for your family to ease their loss. God Bless you Coach Kush!

We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the Kush family for your loss of Frank as well as our admiration for all Frank and you have done to make our world a much better place.
We met frank in 1965 when we became neighbors and friends on Bishop Drive in Tempe. Our liking and respect for him and Fran was immediate and lasting. We were privileged to have an inside view of all he did for his players, family and others lucky enough to cross his path. Yes, he was a hard driver, but underneath he was always motivated by compassion and the best interests of others. We also found a common bond in humor; Julie and Frank both had polish backgrounds and I was often unwise enough to tell related jokes. Frank always laughed and responded in kind.
After I completed my training at Williams AFB and we moved to Houston, we saw Frank and Fran much less frequently, but our liking and respect for Frank, the man, has never diminished.
The world needs more people like Frank Kush.

I was so very fortunate to be a part of the Arizona State cheerleading line during the Frank Kush "GOLDEN YEARS" from 1969-1973! I had the privilege of watching his coaching skills not only during home games but also on the many away WAC trips the cheerleaders were thankfully brought on. He was a fantastic coach.....quite apparent with his winning record...but I also saw a softer side of him through the years on the away trips and also bantering with him on Kush's Corner..his weekly TV show! Coach Kush will be truly missed and attending ASU would have never been the same without him and his fiery heart for Sun Devil football! GOD bless.......and deep sympathy to his family

While attending ASU, I had the honor of working in the Football Department with Frank Kush and his staff. Frank always was like a father figure to me. He embraced me and mentored me. I was leader of the Devilettes, we helped recruit high school players to attend ASU. My proud recruit was Jim Jeffcoat who played for ASU then went onto the Dallas Cowboys. I kept in touch with his mother in New Jersey and to this day have all the letters and photos from her. My heart is broken with the loss of Coach Kush. Coach and his wife opened their home to me and I spent a few days there while suffering a traumatic event. I met his sons who were oh so proud of their dad. I have photos of Frank in his office and us together. God Bless Frank Kush and I will see you in heaven soon. You served ASU and now you can rest in peace. My deepest sympathies to his family.

To the Kush Family:
Of course, we all know, your father coached the Arizona State Sun Devils and re-joined them in his later years as an athletic administrator.
I have many fond memories of your father, having worked on his TV show when he coached at ASU. He inspired me to always do my best and he always had a kind word for me.
He was kind enough to volunteer to appear for me in '78 at the "Ice Follies" Cookie Monster Cookie Eating Challenge, where he began by throwing lemonade into competitor ASU baseball coach Jim Brock's face! He always looked for an edge. And Frank's teams always played exciting and enthusiastic football.
Then when I served with the Washington Redskins, two of his former ASU stars pressured me to write him for some shirts. He was kind enough to send us all, caps, shirts and jackets!
I last met him at the ASU-Northwestern game several years ago and it was an emotional meeting.
I felt honored and privileged to know Frank Kush, not just as a coach but as a great person. I, along with many others, will miss him.
My sincerest condolences to you all.
