Elizabeth Baur Obituary
Baur died Sept. 30 in Los Angeles following a lengthy illness, publicist Paul Gendreau announced, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The actress played Officer Fran Belding on the popular crime drama “Ironside” from 1971 until the series ended in 1975. She took over the lead female role on the series after the departure of Barbara Anderson, who played Eve Whitfield the first four seasons.

She reprised her role as Fran Belding for the 1993 TV-Movie “The Return of Ironside.”
Her first starring role was on the TV-Western series “Lancer,” which aired on CBS from 1968 – 1970. She played the ward of a rancher who was portrayed by actor Andrew Duggan.
Baur left college to join a training program for actors at 20th Century Fox that included Jacqueline Bisset.
She also appeared on the TV shows “Emergency!” and “Fantasy Island.”
Survivors include her daughter, husband and first cousin Sharon Gless who starred on “Cagney & Lacey.”

Another year has passed since the wonderful Beautiful actress Elizabeth Baur has left us,I always loved her as Officer Fran Belding in Ironside,been watching this series nearly every day recently,she left us far too soon at only 69 years old that’s only 3 years older than what I am.
Gone but not forgotten.

I am sorry to hear of her death. I remember her as 'Fran Belding' from 'Ironside' and had always wondered how she had fared since. Unlike so many other actresses she was a natural, distinguishable beauty and she possessed that certain air of elegance and grace.
I was soooo in love with her - but alas, it was not to be: I was 11 years old when I watched the program in the 1970ies.

Liz really seemed to enjoy her acting roles and the environment of acting and entertaining and we enjoyed her contributions to the art form. Gone to soon, a beautiful and graceful lady. My prayers are with Elizabeth's family and friends. As a young child growing up in the time Ironside originally aired, I recalling watching when I could. My memories of the show are more when Elizabeth was on. She was strong, wise and graceful in all that she did. Those attributes and her genuine care for others showed... that is what made her a role model to me. As I watch reruns of Ironside now, her wisdom and influence still leave a lasting impression. First saw you on Lancer, and loved the character, Teresa for her spunky portrayal as Murdoch Lancer's ward. Followed her later on Ironside, and was always delighted to see her in her other performances.
