I'm saddened to hear about his passing. My condoloences to the family. He was a wonderful gentleman. What we had most in common was our mustangs. His red mustang convertible in the museum and my red mustang were production running mates in that first year, 64 1/2 mustang convertibles. He was a perfect host whenever I visited the museum. May he RIP.

In 2018, I was new to the Mustang Club and hadn't owned my 1997 Mustang Cobra SVT for very long prior to joining. I bought the car as it was an item on my "Bucket List" ( to drive a stick shift proficiently).
Mustang Club members told me about the "pony ride" to Gale Halderman's Museum being a must, so I went so I could continue to improve my standard driving skills and get an education about Mustangs NON-internet.
Boy it was a great day! About 30-40 Mustangs traveling together... and ...Ahh the sound as we went down the road!
At the museum, I met and listened to Gale explain his career, while I was also devouring a few hotdogs smothered in mustard (of course). I took about 200 pictures of the beautiful older Mustangs in the museum, and more of club members polished Mustangs with hoods popped up and on display outside.
Everyone in the club and even Gale and his daughter, treated me like family.
I'm going to polish up my Mustang. She's rio red on the body , with a saddle tan convertible top... and take another pony ride soon to Gale's Museum.
When I get there, I'll grin from ear to ear as I pop up the hood, rev the engine, look up at the sky ,and thank Gale one more time for not only designing the Mustang, but for helping me with my bucketlist, and inspiring "pony rides" everywhere.
My heartfelt condolences to the Halderman family. Mr. Gale Halderman was a wonderful man.

Humility is an honorable quality and one to be highly respected. Now everyone knows of Mr. Halderman's original design of the Ford Mustang, a basic truth that can never be taken away from him. As you remember him with fondness and cherish the love you had for him, let the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and minds knowing that all of his words and accomplishments are safely stored in God's memory.

On behalf of the Ohio Region of the AACA as President I was so sorry to hear of your loss, which was everybodies loss too. Gale and his family hosted our club two or three times. He had a gift that made you think you knew him when you met the first time, and when he spoke to your group, everybody listened to him. We will always miss him.

Thank you Gale, the Mustang was an eye opening one of a kind automobile. We've had 11 Mustangs in our family over the years and loved every one of them. I will never forget when my Dad brought home his 1965 GT Fastback, what a car! That was the beginning of it all.
Your genius in designing such an incredible car will never be forgotten, nor will you
God Bless you Sir,

I knew Gale well having worked closely with him on several vehicle programs in the early-mid 1990 s I was in product development management and had approval responsibility for design on car lines lines for which I was program manager. Gale was a pleasure to work with always ready to explain why his proposals fit best within the constraints of cost, feasibility and timing. Wish I would have been able to have a beer and talk about the old days with him. Richard Landgraff

Our condolences to the family. Gale designed a cultural icon in the Ford Mustang...mind-blowing. It became the dream car of the ages, and still is today. A song from the 1960s, "Mustang Sally" still makes me turn the stereo all the way up. If you don't know the car, you must study up and find out all you can about it. I'm sorry that we never knew the man who designed it, and now I will set forth to find out what we must know about Gale Halderman. May he rest in peace, and may God comfort each of you.
