Crushing to hear that Andre Harrell had passed. He was the creator of some of the best music I've ever heard in my life (and I'm a musichead), music that is the soundtrack to some of the best times and years of my life. Such a talented and innovative man. Saddens me to know he cant be hear to continue to enjoy his family and the fruits of his labor. My heartfelt condolences to Andre's family, friends and coworkers. The parties at New Paltz were great. The best thing was the laughter we enjoyed. You would always the greatest comedian of all times Lucky Banks. I can recall attending Lehman College, Andre Harrell sponsored a dance contest.I was all up in the dance contest. I won second place because Andre Harrell said my partner and I did the doggone thing! I remember the era of Hip-Hop when it was reputable and we just had plain fun. No lewdness, no rudeness, nothing but fun. I remember the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde formation. We were young, vibrant, passionate and creative in Arts and Music. I remember he wanted to be a Newscaster. I wanted to be a Journalist. Andre Harrell reminds me of a different time and space when our dreams were so close, we could touch them!!! I will always respect and remember Mr. Andre Harrell. Rest on Man of Purpose. You have completed your journey!!!!

I bump into Andre Harrell on two occasions one in the elevator at uptown records and on ferry going to rock the bells concert. Wish I knew this great man that helped a lot of careers thats a blessing in disguise. Rest in heaven Mr Harrell.

I knew Andre in the 80s. I was an art director at MCA Records. He would always come to visit me in my office. I would ALWAYS compliment him on his clothes .HE was always dressed beautifully for a young guy . What a gentleman
