We met Rose Lee at the. Lu try Music HOF after many visits to see her. Walking up to her singing Dim Lights she had the biggest smile on her face. We proceeded to chat n she related so many personal stories to us. It was like chatting with my best friend. She was actually late for her next tour but was so enjoying our visit. Sent her pics n cards since our visit. One of the best days of our lives meeting Rose Lee❤

I met Rose Lee, or Rosie as she introduced herself, in Sunday school class and church choir in Nashville. To know her was to love her. She was sweet, unassuming, humble. I didn't know about her music career for several months after meeting her, because she never bragged on herself or her accomplishments. I loved her energy, and positive outlook on life. Prayers for her family at this difficult time.

I used to watch Rose Lee and Joe on the Country Music TV Shows in the 1950’s and 60’s. While she wasn’t featured like Joe was because of his incredible feats on the guitar, Rose Lee was a very good singer and a classy lady. She had a great smile as well. RIP!!

With the passing of Rose Lee Mathis, we have lost not only a gifted and talented performer/songwriter from the early days of classic C&W music, but also yet another member of "The Greatest Generation."

Rosie and Joe were regulars at our bakersfield home (Henry and Margaret Shropshire) when I was but a long haired teen in the seventies. A many of dinners and Yahtzee games around the table and they were like family. She was simply the best and this world is missing an angel.

Rose was one of the greatest of all time country music artists. I remember so well Joe Maphis and Rose on Town Hall Party when I grew up in the fifties. Their true genuine country and western music will live forever!

I'm sure you will be missed. Mom and Dad loved the old county music and I am sure they knew who you were. God bless you and keep singing, in heaven.
