William was a regular at prayer service and I loved that about him. He was faithful in praying for others, remembering their needs, and putting his trust in God to meet their needs as well as his. No matter what was happening in his life he had that smile that said it was going to be okay. God's got it.

William was a wonderful father, husband and person in general. My favorite memory of him was when he was taking his kids trick or treating and he was wearing a full on 80´s costume all the way down to the shoes. He was having a wonderful time- probably more so than the kids:) Sending love and condolences to your family

To the family, many, many friends, and fans of this great person who played a safety. William White was a former safety for the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Atlanta Falcons. He had a wonderful career in football. May you find comfort in your wealth of fond memories together with William White. I first met William on his first day as a Detroit Lion. I instantly liked him -- he was dressed to the nines, had a BIG smile and a terrific sense of humor.
He was then and always was an inspiration. Such a hard worker, a born leader with an infectious personality and he never, never gave up.

Condolences to William's family. He was a true Buckeye. He was always upbeat, humorous and compassionate at the annual Alumni football tailgate gatherings. He acknowledged my father, Coach Finn, a Lima native too, when he showed up and any of his guests. It was an honor and pleasure to know him.

As a kid growing up in urban city of Lima, William was 3yrs older and in my brothers class at LSHS. The excitement of his athletic games were all the buzz every week. From the grid iron games on the field to legendary games against Chris Carter on the hardwood. William was someone to look up too.. someone to know..and to inspire a poor kid from the streets with no positive role model. A man that could make something of his life and leave Lima. Once at OSU, he was a dominant FB player, and mostly a great teamate shared by Speilman and other great buckeyes. When he was drafted the hard work paid off and inspired many people including this young man learning to know what to do in his life. Once I began putting all of my energy into my career, I paid forward and meet William and Nikole on the 2011 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. I didn't care to meet anyone else just to on photo with WW. Knowing he was living in my suburb my oldest daughter and his became friends, and I regularly began to see William. Always with a smile, positive energy and the will to succeed, he known ALS was a fight he could only do for others. I knew this man, I was inspired by WW as a man and someone to look up too. No one could ever know how many lives we impact or influence, but WW inspired many including this greatlful and humble man, that shown me a way from the streets of Lima to a better life and love for his family.
