William "Bill" F. Augsburger was born on July 30, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from North High School in 1955 and went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1961.
Bill began his career with Owens-Illinois in Columbus before transferring to Muncie, Indiana, a move that changed his life forever. It was there he met Judy Jones, who would become his beloved wife. Bill and Judy shared 58 years of marriage filled with love and joy.
Together, they raised two children, Stacy (Terry) McCormack and Judge Andrew (Candice) Augsburger. Bill was immensely proud of his five grandchildren, Kailin and Quinn McCormack, Mariel, Christian, and Seth Augsburger, who brought him endless happiness.
Bill had many passions. He enjoyed woodworking, loved playing golf, and was a devoted fan of Ohio State football and basketball. He treasured trips to the Outer Banks and delighted in traveling to Germany, Florida, and the National Parks. More than any destination, Bill's favorite place to be was with his children and grandchildren.
In 1998, Bill retired from Techenglass as Technical Director. He took great pride in his work, especially the opportunities it gave him to collaborate internationally and contribute to advancements in technology.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Loretta (Yoder) Augsburger; his brother, Bob; and his sisters, Ruth Morgan, Margaret (Peg) Wilhelm, and Dorothy Brown.
He is survived by his devoted wife, two children, grandchildren, sister-in-law Hazel Augsburger, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Bill was a man who loved deeply, his family, his friends, his work, and the world he explored. He laughed easily, welcomed others warmly, and lived a life rich with connection and joy. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
