Brett E. Poling

Brett E. Poling, age 71, of Pickerington, passed away after a brief illness on February 24th, 2026.

He was born on December 7th, 1954, in Akron to the late Carl and Julia Poling.

Brett is survived by his wife of 45 years, Denise Poling; his children, Brittany (Matthew) Duthie, Trevor (Michelle) Poling, and Erin (Aaron) Guy; and his cherished grandchildren, Finley, Ruby, and Morgan. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother (Rex), mother-in-law (Marianne Cheyney), and many other extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Isaiah Duthie and father-in-law, Robert Cheyney Sr.

Brett was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. In his free time, you would find him spending time with his family, listening to rock music, or going on long drives along the backroads of Ohio with his wife. He was quick-witted and always made his family laugh and feel loved.

Brett always worked hard to support his family and always expressed that family is the most important thing in life. He showed this many times throughout his life-Friday nacho nights watching TGIF, Sunday pancake breakfasts, coaching numerous sports, and summer vacations to

King's Island are some examples that had a lasting impact on his family.
