Erich Gregory Blades

Erich Gregory Blades, age 44, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on February 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving parents and sister.

Erich was born on January 26, 1982, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Gregory and Carol (Rost) Blades. He grew up in Pickerington, Ohio, and graduated from Pickerington High School in 2000. He went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, following his lifelong passion for technology.

Erich worked as a Computer Systems Administrator at Abbott Labs and most recently found fulfillment in his role as a Quality Training Specialist at CSL Plasma, where he loved his work and the people who worked alongside him.

From childhood, Erich was fascinated by computers and technology. He delighted in troubleshooting, upgrading, sharing his knowledge with others, happily stepping into the role of trusted tech advisor for family and friends. Beyond his technical talents, he will be remembered for his generous heart, quick wit, intelligence and unmistakable sense of humor. He had a deep love for his family and a special tenderness for animals, both of which brought him great joy throughout his life.

Even in passing, Erich's generous spirit lives on. As an organ and tissue donor, he made the selfless decision to give others the gift of life, reflecting the compassion that defined him.

Erich is survived by his loving parents, Gregory and Carol Blades; his sister, Emily Blades; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him.

A celebration of Erich's life will be held on March 21st, 2026 at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Rd N, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM with a Service at 2:00 PM.
