So appreciative of the Sunday afternoon Earnie spent with me in Kingston while preaching at a Pentecostal church 30 years ago.... Earnie was a great friend that helped me reboot my life in a better direction. Forever grateful to this man.

Nonpareil punching power, top-ranked boxer in the golden age of the sport, and truly a wonderful genial man. I always smile, when I read accounts (from some of the greatest heavyweights of all-time) of how hard Ernie hit in the ring. And how beloved, delightful, decent, and well-respected he was in all other settings.
Rest in peace, Ernie. You were an unforgettable boxer, and champion gentleman.
