Ed would have been 98 today and he has been missed by us the last 2+ years. But he has started a new time line in God's heaven. May his family and friends always find comfort in that.

Dear Jeanne Ronald, Sonya, Stephan, and the younger generation of your family. I never had the privilege of meeting Ed but the singing, acting, and interviews I've seen have really resonated with me. He was born the same year as my father. from what I've seen He seems to have similar qualities - a sharp mind, a love of family, a willingness to stand up for his beliefs, love of sports, etc. I almost believe this was because of everything their generation went through. I feel that Ed never got as much recognition for everything he did in this life as he deserved. Ed's songs bring me to tears. They remind of my husband of 24 years who passed away 20 years ago. I still miss him to this day. So I would imagine that you must miss Ed beyond all depth. I pray God helps you through your sorrow until the day you're reunited in heaven.
If ever you need to talk to someone who has and is going through such a loss feel free to contact me.

Ed Ames has the voice of an angel. Playing his CD in my car bawling my eyes out b/c it takes me back to when I was young and my Dad played his records. I was singing his songs to my dog Rebel-- my cup runneth over with love, try to remember ..., and they call the wind Mariah--my Dad and Mom had a cherished sheltie Mariah :) Rebel told me not to quit my day job. I adore Ed Ames-they broke the mold with that magnificent, kind man. He was a "slice of heaven" on earth. That's a phrase coined from my boyfriend Roger who is in heaven--I hope they look each other up b/c Roger was an angel also. Love you much :)

I met Ed while serving as a missionary in New Jersey in 1964. He was a very enjoyable person to be around. We developed a brief but meaningful friendship. I would like to make contact with his wife if she would contact me at [email protected].

Just thinking of Mr. Ames tonight after seeing a video of him on the Johnny Carson Show years ago and remembering the beautiful songs he sang. I grew up playing the double keyboard organ and used to play My Cup Runneth Over With Love. Now I’m 67 and his songs are still beautiful to me. He was such a wonderful singer and will always be remembered as such.

Such a beautiful soul and wonderful gentleman. I met Mr Ames several times in my teens and early twenties in Dayton Ohio at Suttmiller’s restaurant. He seemed to always be there at or close to my parents anniversary. He sang the Anniversary Waltz and danced with my Mom numerous times. Shared a slice of anniversary cake at our table and autographed photos.
He also performed in Fiddler On The Roof with Kenley Players at Memorial Hall in Dayton.
He was always polite and enthusiastic. He talked to the audience like old friends, took requests, told stories and anecdotes. He was a big star with a big heart. One of a kind and will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched directly as well as those he comforted with his
music but never met.
I will always remember him as Mingo.
Rest in Peace Mingo. You will live on in the memories of several generations all over the world here on earth. My sympathy and condolences to your family.

Dearest Jeanne, Ronald, Sonya, Stephen, and All Family,
We are truly saddened to hear about the death of Ed Ames, and we send our heartfelt condolences to you during this difficult time. We have certainly lost a talented person. We are thankful he shared his remarkable musical and theatrical talents and gifts with us, and he will certainly be missed.

Mr. Ames placed many chart-topping singles on the charts, and my favorites are “My Cup Runneth Over” and “Try to Remember.” My favorite Ames Brothers single is “Rag Mop.” I grew up in the 1960s listening to his music, and he had amazing talent as a singer and a unique voice. Mr. Ames will not be forgotten, and his musical and theatrical legacy will continue to inspire others.

Please continue to treasure your good memories and may they soothe your saddened hearts. May prayers strengthen you and cherished memories comfort you, and may God soothe your hearts and comfort you always. Psalm 23

Ed Ames' portrayal of a First Nations character in popular TV series 'Daniel Boone' was strong, sympathetic and modern - a positive influence on a young, international audience that included me. American Frontiersman, Boone and university-educated Cherokee, Mingo were friends sharing mutual respect. Vale Ed, and condolences to loved ones.

Knew Mr. Ames when he was in Park City. A great guy with a great sense of humor. When I was in hardware he would come in the store often and always had a great attitude. Very down to earth fellow. Sometimes I would grab a camping axe when I saw him and we would laugh. It’s been a long time since I last saw him and I miss those moments. My condolences to the family.
RIP my friend.

Living in Teaneck and being good friends with Sonya in my childhood I remember the whole family very well. I want to extend my condolences to Ed’s family having just read about his passing yesterday. I remember going to visit them in L. A. as a teenager as well. Ed was a huge talent and when I lived in Chicago I visited him backstage at a musical he was starring in. R.I.P. and thinking of the whole family during this great loss. Cheryl
