This past month has been a very hard time for our family, but I would like to take time to remember my brother, Pete - WOW what a brother! He was always there, no matter what was happening in his life, he made time for each and everyone one of us. Whether it be a brother or sister, or neice or nephew, with a question or thought, he was there. He will be so missed by our family. There will definitely be a void in our family. The holidays will be very different without Pete's imput--he could make you smile about anything going on in your life or in the world. From all the love and support shown by all of you I know he was a very special person to each and every one of you as he was to us. Thank you again for all your support and love. Thank God for letting us be a part of Pete's life.

John was the head custodian at TJ for several years while I taught there. He led his crew with such skill. He could have been a leader anywhere. He had a way of making people laugh and want to do good work for him. That is a rare gift. This was an honorable and honest man. The last time I saw him was at TJ just before he reitred he was saying how much he was looking forward to spending more time with his grandkids and working on little projects at home. I will keep you folks in my prayers.

I have been trying to trace back through the years to when I first met Pete. It was in Kindergarten. Pete sat directly behind me. When he would get mad at me, he would threatened to cut off my long braids with his scissors. I knew he didn't mean it, as he always said it, with a BIG grin on his face! Yes, that was Pete and we were great friends! At Faith Lutheran school, Pete was my best friend! As the years passed he really thought of me as a "pest", as I was at his house almost every day playing with Sue. He was kinda like a brother and his mom and dad always made me feel like I was Kathy Jo Hansen instead of Kathy Jo Mass!
My heart aches for all of the Hansen family this week!
I have asked God so many times to wrap His tender loving arms around each of you, and to give you strength. Although I live so far away, please know that I am with all of you in thought and in prayer. I send my love to each of you! May God be with you!

John always worked hard to care for his people and buildings. I remember him as a fun co-worker who knew how to sweat and could tell some great stories. May God hold you in His hands.

I think back through all the years I've known Pete, I think he was always the one who had a good joke about anything and words about everything. For many years, he has always been what seemed the one who kept the family informed on any event, good or bad. He also kept the e-mail boxes full of jokes, and his view on the many common scense events that were always front topic in the political arena, kind of like our families version of Will Rogers. I truly never knew Pete as well as the rest of those who were around him daily, however, from what I knew of him, he seemed a good man. I know aunt Gloria will miss him, as well as the kids. Just remember to celebrate his life, not be sad from his passing. I truly think he would have wanted every one to live on in their lives with the gifts of him, he gave everyone. Aunt Gloria, smile and know Pete will always be there beside you through the rest of your life. He will be your strength, and comfort you in times when it will seem the world is on your shoulders. My heart goes out to you.

Gloria, Nikki, and Chad, Mike and I are deeply saddened by the passing of your husband and father. I knew John at Kirn for many years and believe me, there was always a friendly smile to greet, teachers, students, parents, and many community people. He remains a positive inspiration to all who knew him.
