Charles William Watson, age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 11, 2026. He was born January 16, 1944 to the late Clair and Pam (Kellogg) Watson in Council Bluffs. Charles was the youngest of seven children. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ted (Doris) Watson, George Watson, Janet (Dave) McIntosh, and Pam (Bob) McHenry.
Chuck graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, with the Class of 1963, in Council Bluffs, IA. He attended Iowa Western Community College and later graduated from Buena Vista College. Chuck spent 4 years in the US Coast Guard. Over the years, Chuck had many occupations. While working at CB Community Schools as an in-house printer for seven years, he met Jeanette. He also held positions at Western Federal Savings & Loan for 20 years, and Resolution Trust Corp & FDIC for 10 years. Chuck was very involved as a 4-H Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Camp Fire Leader, Sertoma, Lewis Central School Board for 3 years, and AREA 13 Board for 20 years. He was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and set up the bylaws for their foundation. Chuck was an avid car enthusiast, collecting, maintaining, and repairing cars.
Chuck is survived by wife, Jeanette; children, Cathryn Watson of Omaha, NE, son, Matthew (Nicole) Watson of North Liberty, IA, son, Phillip (Katie) Watson of Council Bluffs, IA, and daughter, Karen Watson of La Vista, NE; sisters, Nancy Goodfriend of Folsom, CA and Sue Borman of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Charlotte, Kaitlin, Grant, Henry, and Clara.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14, 2026, followed by a luncheon.
Memorials can be made to Veterans Administration in Omaha, NE and Our Saviors Lutheran Foundation in Council Bluffs, IA.
