Catherine Carlson Obituary

Catherine Susan Carlson

May 14, 1955 - August 2, 2025

Meadow Vista, California - Catherine Susan Carlson (1955 - 2025) passed away peacefully on August 2, surrounded by family.

Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Maj. Fred B. and Mildred Cluck. Catherine spent her childhood traveling the world. She lived in Japan, Spain, and throughout the United States. These experiences shaped her independent spirit and eye for beauty.

Catherine was strong and unforgettable, with a personality that was stylish, opinionated, and fiercely devoted to her family. She made holidays and milestones feel magical. She was proud, stylish, opinionated, and fiercely devoted to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Carlson; her daughters, Chelsea Polhemus and Bonnie Carlson; her stepchildren, Robert D. Carlson and Susan C. Carlson; and her beloved grandchildren, Kennedy and Peyton Polhemus, Connor and Summer Carlson, and Jack Goselin.

She showed up for every game, every performance, every celebration, fully present and full of pride. She was a devoted parent volunteer both in her daughters' school and on the soccer field, and was happiest at her home in Auburn, knitting, or at the family's Dillon Beach house, her cherished getaway on the coast. She created a life full of warmth, loyalty, and just the right amount of fun.

Details for a celebration of life will be shared in the coming weeks.

Earlier today

Cathy was my Aunt. The sister of my mother. So of course I had known her all my life, even though she was on the western coast and We were all in TX. But we visited every year. Being close in age we had fun as children. Her and Marilyn were always making me feel special as a child. Her family was also my family, I´m sad that I lost touch after mother passed. We had a huge family back in the 60s-2000s, I do have some great cousins, it´s just so sad to loose so many. I miss them all dearly and Cathy was one of those people who shined when she came to visit. I´ll miss her even though I was out of touch for the last years. I wish my Best, Steven Cogdell

My Aunt Cathy was always there for me growing up. The sleepovers were always so fun! She was very generous with her time and loving support. I will cherish all those memories and will forever be thankful.
