Louis Souleotes Obituary

ASHVILLE - Louis Nick Souleotes, age 68, of Ashville, formerly of Birmingham, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick George and Agravene Pharo Souleotes and brother, George Nick Souleotes. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian Souleotes; sons, Nick Louis (Carolyn) and Louis Mims Souleotes, Forrest and Johnny King; grandsons, Robert Louis and Derek Adam Souleotes. Louis attended the Alabama School for the Deaf and Blind in Talladega. He received the honor of being the recipient of the Blind Worker of the Year from the Industries of the Blind and met President Reagan in Washington. Louis was an exceptional man. He was born with Retinitis Pigmentosa which slowly robbed him of his eyesight but not of his abilities be a successful small business owner, a loving husband and father, and maintaining a great sense of humor. He made friends easily and kept them for life. He will be missed by us all. Please donate to the Holy Cross-Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral or American Cancer Society. Visitation for friends will be Thursday 5-7 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel. The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel will direct the service.
