Albert William Mannecke, 84, of Malvern, died Friday, August 24th, 2007 at Golden Age Retreat, following a long illness.

Albert was born in St. Louis, MO on October 31, 1922, the son of the late Albert William Mannecke and Bertha (Niner) Mannecke Wood.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern the Catholic Men's Club, and American Legion Post 375, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WW II.

He worked as a Finish Carpenter and was a Rural Letter Carrier for the Postal Service.

Albert is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Bob) Rowntree of Louisville; a son, William (Susan) Mannecke of Schertz, TX; two sisters, Mildred Sexton of St. Louis, MO, Marylee Hall of Oklahoma; grandchildren Eric Rowntree of San Antonio, TX, Andrew Mannecke of Shertz, TX, granddaughters Jana Rowntree, Nicole (Shawn) Hatter; great granddaughter Hayden Elizabeth Hatter and great grandson Cale William Hatter all of San Antonio, TX

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Mannecke who died in 2003, and a sister, Vera Schultz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Malvern, at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 27th, with Celebrant Father Victor Cinson. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Malvern, Ohio.

DEAR JOANN, BILL AND FAMILY,

ONE OF MY FOND MEMORIES OF YOUR DAD IS WHEN HE WOULD COME INTO THE POST OFFICE HE WOULD SAY, " BE SURE TO TELL LINDA (WHO HE TRAINED) THAT THERE WERE ONLY 231 DAYS LEFT TILL CHRISTMAS!!" THOSE MAILMAN LOVE ALLLL THAT CHRISTMAS MAIL!!!
YOUR DAD WAS SUCH A PILLAR IN THE CHURCH AT ST. FRANCIS WITH HIS MANY WOODWORKING TALENTS AS WELL AS HIS SPIRTUALITY.

DEAR JOANN AND FAMILY, I WAS SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF YOUR DAD. I JUST DROVE BY YOUR FAMILY HOME THIS WEEK AND HAD WONDERED ABOUT YOUR FATHER. IN MALVERN THERE ARE SO MANY MEMORIES OF CHILDHOOD FRIEND'S PARENTS AND SO FEW OF THEM LEFT. JOANN I WILL THINK OF YOU AND YOURS AT THIS TIME.
