Family-Placed Funeral Notice

NORMAN TANZMAN Real Estate Executive, Former NJ State Senator and Philanthropist Norman Tanzman, 85, a former long-time NJ State Senator, passed away Sunday, June 6 2004, at his home in West End, NJ. He also resided in Palm Beach, FL. His astute business sense earned him a place as a partner in the firm, now known as Jacobson, Goldfarb & Tanzman Associates, LLC in Woodbridge. Mr. Tanzman was elected to the NJ General Assembly for four terms and was Assistant Majority Leader in 1967. That same year he was elected to the NJ Senate, serving until 1974. Mr. Tanzman's philanthropy benefited many charities and non-profit organizations. As chairman of the Raritan Bay Healthcare Foundation, he raised millions of dollars for the hospital and was instrumental in the success of its Renewal 2000 Project. He also was among the founders of The Central Jersey Jewish Home for Aged and a major benefactor of the facility. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; his daughters: Rona Shein and Jane Kleinfeld; his brother, Herbert Tanzman and four grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
