I just learned of Patrice's death. She was a mentor of mine when I was an undergraduate psychology student at Cal Poly. I took her research methods class and worked with her on a couple of research projects. She inspired my love of research and helped me through the process of applying to graduate school. She was an amazing teacher, mentor, and soul. I will be forever thankful for the impact she had on me at that time in my life. I send wishes for comfort and healing to her family and friends. Best wishes, Christie (Lisman)Lundwall, Ph.D.

I miss Patty's spirit and her sense of adventure for others as well as herself .Her research and projects will continue to help the children of the world. Sometimes I envision I hear Patty's voice in the cosmos where she now exists which is only richer

Patty was not only extremely bright in mind but also in spirit. I had the great pleasure of being with her and Kirk in Guatemala and the boat building commune. She blended in with all types and with that, we surely put her through the test, and could spin a yarn with the best of them. She will leave a large void in everyone's life. Grady Meadows

I am so sad to hear of Patrice' death. She was an incredibly caring and capable human being, who gave back not only to her community but to the children of the whole world. I will really miss her.
