Roy Lee Jenkins

Born April 10, 1952 in Malakoff, TX to Johnny & Joyce Jenkins, passed from this life into eternity December 19, 2008 at the age of 56. Roy loved nature and the outdoors. The simple joys of hunting, fishing, or riding his Harley could be seen in the smile on his face. He was a hard working carpenter whose love for his job could be seen in the many things that he worked on. Roy is survived by his son, Michael Jenkins & wife Tiffany; grandchildren: Hunter (12) and Lauren (9); parents, John & Joyce Jenkins; sisters: Patricia Gail DeRouen and husband Wesley, Bevelyn Kay Thompson & husband Tommy; nieces and nephews: Tonya, Erika, Tamra, Lisa, Dash, Jake, Bailey, Slyade, Mike, David, Justin, and Adam; aunts and uncles: Minnie Pierce, Barbara Jenkins, Roy (Sonny) Jenkins, J.R. & Lou Tapley, Treman & LaVerne Perkins, Don & Shirley McLain, Tommy & Kay Tapley & all of their children. He is preceded in death by his son, Kristopher Lynn Jenkins. Visitation for Roy will be held at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. December 21, 2008. Funeral service will begin 2 p.m. within the sanctuary of the Family Cathedral of Praise, December 22, 2008 with the interment to follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
