MACLEAN, Pamela Margaret
Pamela Margaret Maclean, born February 19, 1925, in Alverstoke, England, passed away peacefully at her home in Vancouver on August 27, 2017; she was surrounded by love. Pamela is survived by her children Hugh, Francesca (Thomas), and Camilla (James); her cherished grandchildren Kendall, Alexander, Thomas James (T.J.), and Isobel; her sister Sheila; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Pamela was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles, and her daughter Philippa. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Rod Ma and the rest of Pamela's Home-VIVE team at VGH as well as Jane Montaron and Jennifer Montaron, her long-time caregivers. Our mother's passion for the game of tennis was curtailed by a health setback in 1998. It was the devoted care of Jane and Jennifer that enabled her to remain in her home, enjoying her love of family and friends, reading, and, of course, shopping, as our beautiful mother maintained her enviable flair for fashion until the end. A social worker by nature as well as by profession, Pamela was a kind and thoughtful person who always gave generously to those in need. For those wishing to make a donation in her memory, Pamela's many charities included the Canadian Red Cross, Covenant House, and the Salvation Army. A private service will be held for family. Friends are invited to gather at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club, 1630 West 15th Avenue, Vancouver.
