I am still so happy that cousin Bernie reached out to our family and connected with us in his final years. He met with me and my sister in Brooklyn, shared stories and the family tree. It was great getting to know him. Love, Suzy Bialeck

Very sad news. I knew Bernie through our business relationship (electrical) and thought of him more of a friend then a customer. Very interesting character, always said what was on his mind and did not mesh words. Enjoyed his wit and sense of humor. Condolences go out to the family.

Thank you for letting us know. Your dad was very dear to me. We were clients of his in Florida, 8 years ago. We had a problem in our house with a toxic spray foam insulation. Upon our initial phone conversation and your dad learning that we had a baby living in that toxic house, he was on a plane the next week to help us. Just this example alone showed me his heart. We had many good conversations with your dad. On one occasion we went to lunch and he wrote this down on a napkin in like a minute. I was so fascinated that I tucked it away in my purse and kept it in a special place in my closet.
I would sometimes call him and see how he was and always send a Christmas card. He was a very caring person and dear to my heart.
God Bless , Rebecca Niswonger

Bernie was my husband's second cousin. When my husband, Ed, was a teenager, he babysat Bernie, who was a small child. They lost touch till Bernie grew up and developed an interest in genealogy. About 5 years ago he tracked down Ed as a cousin, but he and Tracy stayed in touch as friends. What a surprise -- and a gift -- to discover family only about 10 miles away! Bernie was an energetic and feisty man of strong enthusiasms, and he and Tracy were a blessing in our lives during Ed's final years. Tracy remains a blessing in mine.
