Although I only knew Jerry for a short time I will never forget the happiness he brought to his family. He was the dad I always wished I could have had. He was an amazing person, father, and grandfather. He will never be forgotten, always looked up to, and forever loved. May he rest in peace free of pain with hisFather for eternity, always looking after his children

Jerry stood as an icon for integrity. I worked close with him for several years and he was also a personal friend. He was truely a person that anyone who knew him felt he would give you honesty. Jerry was a great man and will always be missed by all of us.

I am so so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to have had Jerry as a true friend for all those years from Standard Grocery, Cub Foods, Wetterau, Food Lion and then at Sam's Club. As you have, I am lucky also to have those great memories of events and his signature chuckle was one of a kind. He will never be forgotten...

It breaks my heart to hear of Jerry's passing. He was one of the kindest men I ever knew. I admired his ambition at a young age but he always had time for family and friends. My heart goes out to his family and those close to him in the days ahead. I will always cherish the memories we had.

Jerry was the nicest individual that I ever had the privilege of working with. He always had a smile on his face and words of encouragement. I worked with him at Food Lion here in Knoxville and at Sam's. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Please accept my sympathy and condolences. Jerry was a great person and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know and work with him at Food Lion in Knoxville, TN. I have always cherished some great memories from those days when Jerry worked with us and have continued to enjoy sharing these with others as we reflect on these memories. Jerry was truly an inspiring leader and more importantly an exceptional person that we missed greatly when he left our company. Jerry always demonstrated a tremendous passion for life, work, friends and family and this was always apparent in everything he did as well as a great life lesson. I looked forward to every opportunity to see Jerry because of his positive energy (even if it was him talking about his beloved Indiana Hoosiers and that Bobby Knight guy!). Jerry was a great person and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
