Marlene Marie Wolff, age 47 of Miami Springs, passed away on February 20, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Marlene is survived by her husband, Marc Andrew Wolff; her children, Melanie, Mason, and Mia Wolff; her parents, Lawrence Joseph Bruener and Karen Ann Stevens Bruener; her siblings, Jeffrey Bruener, Timothy Bruener, Kenneth Bruener, and Emily Messina; and countless family, friends, and students. Born August 24, 1964, Marlene attended Blessed Trinity Catholic School and Miami Springs Senior High School. Marlene dedicated her life to teaching and will be remembered fondly by students who attended Blessed Trinity Catholic School, Springview Elementary, Comstock Elementary, Miami Springs Baptist Preschool, and Miami Springs Recreation Center Swim program. Marlene was diagnosed with stage IV Ovarian Cancer in April of 2009 and has since worked to increase awareness and advocate for early detection of the disease. In 2010, her husband and children established the Message from Marli Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization to keep Marli's message alive. The viewing will be on Thursday at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. From 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Miami Springs on Friday 10:00 a.m. with burial at Our Lady Of Lourdes Cemetery afterwards. It's too bad that dying is the last thing we do because it could teach us so much about life. Marli and her family have taught me so much about life. Thank you and God bless.
