Myrle Wood Obituary
Born May 13, 1926, in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Burnette Rhea and Elsie Blankenbaker Rhea. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Rhea Neas.
Mrs. Wood was a member of Sandy Bottom Christian Church. She was a caretaker of many children through the years, and was known by "Nanny" to everyone.
Survivors include a daughter, Malinda W. Bull, of Chesapeake; a son, Roger W. Wood and wife Gail, of Madison Heights; four grandchildren, Terry Paul Bull III and wife Michelle, Tracy Martin Bull, Cereace Wood Creasy and husband Scott, Ashley Rhea Wood and husband Seth; six great-grandchildren, Madison, Donovan, Tyler, Katie, Chandler, and Brady,(her best-friend), other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, at Amherst Cemetery, by the Rev. Glynn A. Coleman.
Memorial contributions may be made to Monelison Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.

what a delight looking at Myrle's pictures!!! She was such a fixture in your household. I realize how much I miss running into her and Ruth in Walmart! What a pair they were...and always so happy when you saw them together! as hard as it is now, what a blessing it is that they are together again. how wonderful Myrle was!
