Joseph Anthony Valenti Sr.was born in Pueblo, CO, April 23, 1923. He is preceded in death by parents Antonino Valenti and Maria Guiseppe Lo Cicero; siblings Angelina Valenti, Nancy Junta, Rose Pullaro and Leonard Valenti. He is survived by loving wife, Mae, of 65 years; children Mary Jo (Dave) Jones of Broomfield, CO, Nancy (Harold) Bonicelli of Pueblo, CO, Joseph A. (Teresa) Valenti Jr., Pueblo, CO; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. Joe worked at CF&I as casting foundry foreman, retiring in 1981 after 38 years of service. He was a musician for 50 years. He ended his career and longest tenure with The Music Makers. He was inducted into the Pueblo Musicians Hall of Fame on November 29, 2001. His passion was his vegetable garden and he volunteered numerous hours at local greenhouses and farms. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge 145 and the Elks Lodge #90. We would like to thank the Sangre de Cristo Hospice, the Visiting Angels and a very special thanks to Lori Marquez who was our "special angel." Joe was greatly loved and appreciated by all of his family who will forever cherish his memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice through the funeral home. Viewing today, 4 – 7 pm, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass, Thursday, 10:00 am, Our Lady of the Meadows Church. Interment at Roselawn Mausoleum. Reception after interment in the church hall.
