Julius was considerate, kind, and compassionate to the students and educational staff at Von Tobel Middle School years ago. He was always willing to give of his time, talent, and services. To the Funches Family, I had the pleasure and to work with Julius at the Cram Middle School during the 2008-2009 school year. He was a pleasure to be around. We always ate lunch together that year, talked about life, and even cracked a few jokes together. I am sad to learn of Julius demise here on earth, but I rejoice in knowing that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Julius is now resting in the arms of Jesus in heaven. I will pray for you that the Lord will grant you peace, comfort, and love during this difficult time in your lives. May God be with and keep you always.

Julius thanks for the memories we shared. I just have so much respect for you as a person. I don't think there is anybody that can say anything bad about you. You were a real good spirited person. God Bless You and Family!

Julius was an incredible human being that brought happiness to all he encountered. It was my privilege to have played along side "Da Krusher". Miss you, my friend.

Johnson said when Fats Waller died applies even more to our man (and, I'm proud to say, my friend) Julius: Some little people have music in them but Julius, he was all music and you know how big he was. And the only coin he would ever accept in return for any kindness or favour he gave you was affection and laughter. As a musician he was nonpareil; as a man, he was even bigger. Our friend and brother is in the company of the angels but the music, the laughter, and the love never die. RIP, my good friend.

Working with him for the past 4 years has been a BLAST....I could always depend on him to make me smile when I was having a bad day, encourage me too eat healthier (even though he ate everything I brought him that wasn't healthy), quiz me on old school vs. new school music and to not take the stress from work home with me. Funches was the "Big Man" on Cram's campus and always made his presence known to the students as well as colleagues. I would always fuss when he gave me a song list at the last minute to type for him and he would tell me type or he'd give me my pink slip LOL....my friend you will truly be missed!!! I know the angels in Heaven are having a good time listening to you play and tell your stories

Julius was my close colleague at Cram Middle School. I will never forget our bonding moments and daily interactions. He was a very special man who made a great impact in my life and the lives of so many of the students. I will miss him greatly. Rest in peace my friend.

Julius was one of the nicest people I met when I spent the winter of 2011/2012 in Las Vegas. Rest in peace.
