I knew Mark and his father when he and his dad would come to our home and help me and my dad with some expert projects around the house. My dad would always say, "Let's get Alan Hill over here; he'll know what to do."
Mark once told me how his parents met, that he was a Marine stationed at Camp Dunlop, and met his mother working at the Cafe in Calipat. If I were a screenwriter, you couldn't have made a more romantic movie if you tried.
Later in life I ran into Mark husting parts at NAPA--always quick to help those around him, and willing to share a story of us kids living in Calipat and Niland.
I've been thinking about Mark, lately, and realized at Church in Calipat on Friday that he had passed.
Until we meet again buddy....
