Gehrke, Daniel "Dan" L.

Daniel "Dan" L. Gehrke, age 59 of the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Dan was born on November 13, 1954 in Clintonville as the son of LaVerne (Lang) Gehrke and the late Harold Gehrke. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1973 and was united in marriage to Susan Schommer on October 30, 1976 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville. Dan began his masonry career with the Thompson Bros. Block Plant in town until 1979. He was then employed at Torborg's in Clintonville as a Masonry Foreman until 1987 when he became self employed. Dan also worked for a period of time for the Wisconsin Mason's Union and more recently returned to self employment. Dan's work was his hobby as well as helping Susan out at the bar. He was a huge Green Bay Packer Fan and also enjoyed making firewood. He adored his family and loved spending time with them and his friends at Hodag. He also enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of the Restless Rider's Horse Club.

Survivors include:His wife: Susan Gehrke, Clintonville. Daughter: Tara (Kenny) Peeters, Clintonville.

Granddaughter: Makena Peeters, Clintonville.

Mother: LaVerne Gehrke, Clintonville.

Sister: LaVonne (George) Beyersdorf, Clintonville. Brother: Robert (JoAnne) Gehrke, Colorado.

Brother-in-law: Paul (Mickie) Schommer, Pulaski.

Sister-in-law: Karen (Keith) Larson, Manawa.

Also extended family members: Pam (Kirt) Kettenhoven, Al (Nicky Zimmerman) Beyersdorf, Pat Beyersdorf, Jade Gehrke, Anne Meyer, Darien Kettenhoven, Hanna Schommer, Logan Haufe, Caitlin Haufe, & Morgan Larson.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Harold Gehrke, 3 children; Jessica, Aaron, and Nicole Gehrke, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Pete and Mickey Schommer, and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 3 PM at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.

Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12 Noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated by Dan's family. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family with the arrangements. www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
