James Schaefer Obituary
Appleton - James "Jim" Schaefer, age 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born on April 19, 1948 to the late Peter and Anne (Kelly) Schaefer. Jim was in the Army for 7 years, where he was a combat medic in Vietnam War in which he received a Purple Heart for his service. He married Susan Ouellette on July 14, 2004. Jim extremely enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors with his family. He was an advocate for veterans and was a lifetime member of the Manawa DAV Chapter #53.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susan; his sons: Joe (Michelle), Dan (Amy), Clint (Renee), and Randy; his grandchildren: Shelby (Jordan) Kruse, Samuel Schaefer, and Connor and Kaycee Schaefer; great granddaughter Everly Kruse; step children: Bradley and Jamie Ouellette; step grandchildren: Nathan, Kynnedi and Taelynn Ouellette; and other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Kalsi Schaefer.
A memorial service for Jim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at BRETTSCHNEIDER TRETTIN NICKEL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 606 N Oneida Street, Appleton. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Manawa DAV chapter #53, Address: 600 W Washington St
