Dennis Stillings Obituary
Dennis Otto Stillings was born October 30, 1942, to Harlow and Ruth Stillings. He was raised in Valley City, North Dakota during his early youth and in his teen years his family relocated to Hutchinson, Minnesota where he graduated high school. He furthered his education at the University of Minnesota receiving a bachelor's degree in mathematics and philosophy.
Dennis was the director of the Bakken Library in Minneapolis for many years. While in Minneapolis, he founded and directed the Archaeus Project Foundation which he continued when he moved to Hawaii. Following his retirement, his love for the rivers and hills brought him home to Valley City where he wanted to be.
Dennis is survived by his wife Cathryn Stillings of Valley City; his son Reid (Pam) Stillings of Austin, TX and his daughters Megan Duke of Minneapolis and Renee (John) Huhs and their children Jack Huhs and Lisa Huhs of Woodside, CA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City. An online guestbook is available at www.olivernathanchapel.com
