Still missing you....

My prayers are with the Bethke family. My heart was broken when I heard David had passed. He has been my friend since 1st grade and we always stayed in touch. When I traveled back to Maryland, we would get together for dinner or a beer even if it was just for a couple hours. We would discuss times gone by when we were kids at age 10 going to Disney World or just Ocean City. In recent years he visited in Daytona Beach and we went to the Daytona 500 and had a blast. I never ever really call him Rabbit he was always Dave to me and.... a Brother to me. Over the last few years when we talked or text late at night, one thing was constant, Dave always asked how my mother was and to say hi from him. Then at the end of our talk or text he always said "Love you Stan, talk soon!"..... I miss him very much.

There are two 30 second videos on YOUTUBE of Dave enjoying the Daytona 500 from 5 years ago. I have put the links and video titles here if you want to cut and paste.

Dave, I've known you most of my life, when we all go our separate ways about our journey, somehow we know nothing of distance in time. I spoke to you a couple months ago, The joy and excitement in your voice, the unconditional friendship that was still there. It is mind boggling to me that when it's time to go home it changes forever those left behind.
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God really knows why.....
Rest in eternal peace Rabbit my prayers and thoughts are with you, you're family and friends.
