Merle McPhail Obituary
Of Kalamazoo
Died Sunday morning December 25, 2011. Merle was born February 15, 1921 in Lawrence County, Alabama a daughter of Elmer and Emily (Montgomery) Allred. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1955, coming from
Alabama. Merle was employed at Chicken Charlie's Restaurant for 18 years and later worked at Meijer's for several years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon E. McPhail on September 15, 1985; a daughter, Sandra Eversole in June of 2010; and four sisters, Annie, Billie, Francis, and Faye. Merle is survived by two daughters, Emily (Clarence "Topper") Barth of Three Rivers and Linda (Mark) Honeysett of Portage, MI; a son-in-law, Paul Eversole of Portage; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Crawford of Kalamazoo; a brother, Tim (Cora) Allred of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery South. Memorials may be
directed to the Heritage
