Bob Jalbert was my dad's (Ron Jalbert) 1st cousin...they basically grew up together until the age of 7-8 years. While I never met Bob, my dad was heartbroken to learn that his beloved, childhood cousin was lost in this horrific incident (he moved our family to central Florida 4 decades ago, so they hadn't been in touch as we'd grown up). I am sure he is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at peace. Prayers for his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Hello,
I worked with Bob in Somerville, Ma at Rogers Foam for 5 years. He got us all Kswiss sneakers for free for our whole family. He was a wonderful man and I
think of him often. He was a salesman and I was a project engineer and i worked directly with him. I did meet your whole family at a company picnic. He also took me out to lunch the last day i worked there. I heard through the plastics news bulletin about his untimely and tragic sudden death. I would just like you to know he has never been forgotten in my mind.
Im sorry for your tremendous loss of an extraordinary guy.

To Bob's family and friends. I followed your hockey career when you were at St. Dom's in Lewiston. I was lucky enough to play for the "Saints" some years later and hopefully upheld the legacy you left for us.
You've outdone yourself this time, and I'm sure you were throwing some elbows and hip checks on that flight.
My thoughts have been with you even though we've never met.

It would seem I arrive to the same place each year. A person I have never met but I still take time to remember. There is still sorrow in my heart for your family as well as so many others. If it is any comfort at all, please know, I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Always.

Bob, I never met you, but I can tell from your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers that you were a delight to be around. I hope your children and their spouses will continue your great legacy and leave this world a better place for having been here. My prayers go out to all of Bob's friends and family. I will never forget this horrible day in our nation's history. Much love from Texas.

Dear Cathie and family... There is not a day that goes by without thinking of Bob.. the times we enjoyed watching him from our kitchen window as he went about caring for his gardenia plant in the the back porch of your house and later on enjoying a glass of red wine while he grilled dinner.Ever since we moved to Freeport, Me..13 years ago, remembering him has always been in our daily lives. I used to compliment both of you as a sharp looking couple..with beautiful children..as always.. your former next door neighbors..Bob and Aida Stevens

Dear Jalbert family,
Our prayers are with you on this anniversary. I will never forget Bob's warmth, humor and generosity - what a special man. On May 6th, 1992 Bob happened to be visiting my family in Cincinnati and brought Maine lobsters! That was a special feast also because it was the day I proposed marriage to my wife Amy. Thank you Bob! Peace be with you and family.

This morning my family and I participated in the Sacramento CA 9/11 Memorial Run/Walk. After reaching the finish line, we were given American flags and proceeded to an area dedicated to remembering each life lost ten years ago. I placed a flag beside Robert Jalbert's name and prayed for his family today. I am blessed to know more about him here.

To the Jalbert Family,
I think of you guys often. I grew up just down the street from Robert and he was a wonderful man. His son and daughter in Law were both my teachers in Middle school. I have found memories of delivering the paper after school. He is truly missed and I am sure he is watching over each and every one of his loved ones each day. Even though it has been 9 years I don't ever forget a man that was truly a gentleman. You will Never be forgotten. Rest in Peace my friend.

There are a few Bob Jalbert's in this world, and many of us were called that day by friends and family, once news was shared about those who were lost. I wasn't even in the country at the time, which only compounded the urgency friends and family may have felt when they called, and they were not able to reach me directly. I went down to the World Trade Center site on my return, and visited the area, ...walked around, saw the outpouring of emotions. I signed someone's visitor book, where they were collecting names for support of the proposed future use of the site. The woman looked at my signature, ..then at me...she recognized the name. I said, yes, and gave her one of my business cards, showing her my name. I asked her to think of Bob, say a prayer. I grew up in Salem,MA. I didn't know this man from Swampscott, but I think of him each time I'm in NYC..from one Bob Jalbert to another. I know he's around those that he loved.

Dear Jalbert Family,
I knew Bob in High School, St.Dom's. We doubled dated a few times and, of course, he was a star hockey player, at least in the eyes of the St. Dom's enthusiasts. I learned from classmates that he was on the UA flight but did not learn of this site until today. I think of him often and want you to know how well remembered he is, despite the many years. God Bless. Carmen C.

Dear Cathie, Margaret, Mrs. Casey, and all,
How shocked I was to learn of your loss. Diane (Cathy, your mom's next door neighbor) told me that Mrs. Casey had lost her son-in-law. I had also heard that my former husband had lost his cousin, Bob. It took me a day to put two and two together, that they were one-and-the-same. It didn't lessen the grief. I called my sister, Karen Clarke, to tell her about Bob. We grieved with you and all of your family. Margaret and I spent so many days together enjoying each other's company on Burbank Street... I thought of her, and how she and her family were filled with pain. Nothing could (or does) take my pain away. Please know, even though I'm living 3,000 miles away, my heart is close to you and yours. I wish you all the best as you begin this new chapter of your life.

When I first saw Robert Jalbert's name on the list of those killed during the attacks, I was afraid. My father's name is Ronald Jalbert. I only saw the R and Jalbert. I was so relieved when I realized it wasn't him. But then I began to wonder about Robert Jalbert and who he was. I began to grieve the loss of his life. My family also grew up in Lewiston, Maine. My family still lives there. I was the only one to leave. I wonder if Robert was related to us somehow. I think about him every time I think about September 11.
To the Jalbert family: I mourn with you. May peace come to your hearts.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Dear Cathie,
I worked with Bob for the last 16 years and enjoyed his friendship every day. He was a wonderful, kind, compassionate man who really enjoyed the people he worked with. His ready smile and infectious laughter brought happiness to us all. I miss him and think about him every day. And every day, my thoughts and heart go out to you and your children and the 3 little grandchildren. I had seen many pictures of them over the years and one Friday in August he brought the older 2 in for a quick visit. I was so happy to meet them, and the pride and pleasure in Bob's face was radiant. God bless you and your family.
